MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT FEASIBILITY STUDY

In this case, members of the StratACUMEN team worked with a medium-sized private sector organization to examine the feasibility of a mixed-use development in a major metropolitan area. The team, in collaboration with company leadership, developed a simulation model to examine five different scenarios for the proposed development. After presenting these scenarios at several community input sessions, the team dropped two scenarios and modified the remaining scenarios before re-running the simulations. The most feasible scenario was then presented to elected officials of the jurisdiction. Based on the questions and concerns shared by the officials, the StratACUMEN team developed a Scenario Planning Model that enabled company leadership to work with the elected officials to develop a viable new scenario that would be acceptable to both sides. The project is now a fully operational signature development in this location.
